That is true! When I was interested in manufacturing and distributing sampling equipment for marine science and fresh water. It was suggested I contact manufacturers in Taiwan. The situation would have been the same in terms of submitting specifications and blueprints for quotes `irrigardless of patents or licenses. In the long run there were no protections as to marketing and manufacture. It would have been a costly experiment without protection. The Chinese offer "knock offs" of expensive watches Etc. such as Rolex diving watches without regard to patents or license, they are thieves at best.

Well, the machine runs better than it has for a long time, however, the carb has absolutely no choke! Nothing. I just prime it more than before and it fires right up.

I've always had good luck ordering thru eBay. When searching there are filter and search buttons. Filter I usually select US only under location. Item condition new. Then sort price lowest first.
Recently I ordered a Metabo 9" grinder. I had to be careful since lowest price seller had a bad rating and reviews. Another I looked at other items seller had for sale and nothing tool related. Then found one that had 30+K sales, all they sold was tools and a 99% rating, great reviews. I received it in 3 days, perfect condition.
PayPal my payment is linked by bank checking and a credit card. I always choose credit card. That way I have double protection and I get 1-2% cash back.

I bought a set of batteries for my Dewalt cordless system... it wasn't until after seeing the payment request on Paypal that I realized it was a Chinese country.. They did show up eventually and seem to work... the strange thing is that the payment was never processed so the batteries were free. Normally I'd notify them of the oversite but this time I don't even know how... the only correspondence I've received was the above mentioned notice from Paypal.

Tractor items I generally buy through Kubota, local auto parts stores or Yesterday's Tractors.

Oh boy. I just ordered a weed wacker carb today on ebay with the same kit you describe. Comes from CA. I'll have to see if it has a choke.

Replaced the carburetor yesterday. My weed eater has a choke plate that mounts over the intake of the carburetor. We had to adjust the new carb but it runs better than it did when new. Glad I spent the $13!

Just look at the seller's feedback and negative comments. When buying, I choose the US only checkbox, item location, and free shipping. Any source from California is just about always a Chinese supply chain. But the feedback says it all for me. Another amusing situation is buying something from a seller but comes from Amazon. So people are getting an Amazon supplier price and selling it to you for a profit. But, the price is still lowest !

This also means that an overworked, underpaid, tired from working Sundays delivering Amazon packages in a worn out truck that used to get service on the weekends person, will all be charged to US taxpayers !

The Chinese do have a system of drop shipment warehouses on both coasts. Some are in NJ and California, Arizona I believe has one. The Zeni Optical Co. using air freight and a drop shipment warehouse along with prepacked USP and addressed packages with discounted shipping makes it a 3 day possibility. It would seem major USA eye glass suppliers use them or the same system.
Remember every Chinese purchase puts money in the coffers of the Chinese Communist Party. Every manufacturer exists because of the party. The Huan Chinese are the puppets of the party and support it! When I was involved with quality diving watches with tritium faces and 200M operating depth. I corresponded with a Chinese plant manager whose factory produced vintage style Rolex diving watches, beautiful watch in terms of material and finish. They could be lab certified for a depth of 200M, cost was $60.00 USD per watch. He claimed the company was non Red, but I doubt it. Unfortunately they were not tritium faced, but phosphor like the original Rolex. They also had a helium relief valve for immersion diving a good feature.

I just received a replacement carb for my Poulan chainsaw. The seller was listed from N.J. but the package came from China.
Advertised as a Walbro adjustable carb; it had no markings to prove this and was slightly different than the original but I was able to make it fit.
The saw, which would not stay running before, now runs like a champ.
All for $11.00!

It is prudent to take a minute an check around for best service and prices. Those handy gas/bar oil cans is a good example. They're about $50 on Amazon, and over $150 on eBay. That doesn't take a mental giant to figure out that they're being purchased from one place and sold at another, for an absurd profit.

That of course, works the other way too. I've seen items priced a half price from Walmart of what they are from Amazon. It's all about the easiest and fastest way to make a buck - from you, of course.
