Is it me or do the state side parts suppliers have ridiculous shipping charges? Never seen such a rip off in all my online shopping days. Off to Aliexpress I go..................

Sure, go ahead. Then what to do when all the local brick and mortar stores go out of business? Let us know what Aliexpress shipping charges are.

It is a rant, I am more than happy to support their efforts but charging $56 shipping on a $75 order is nuts. The total weight of the parts is less than 6oz and you can get a flat rate box from USPS for $8. By the way, Fedex from China is only $16 for 6-8 days with tracking.

I recently made purchases from PartsTree and OrderTree. I bought air filters, oil filters, fuel filters and spark plugs for the zero turn and generator. Easy to navigate the sites and find your type and model number. It's been 11 days since ordering but have not yet heard anything from OrderTree. I'll ring their chimes sometime this week and find out where my stuff is. Shipping choices are many-- USPS, UPS, and other "rush" choices. I am glad to have the choices provided by the online stores.

I will and good, get on the train or get run over. If these local yocal brick&mortor stores dont and wont get onboard the internet highway, they deserve to go out of business and this is one of reasons why Amozon got so big and Sears got so small and why Walmart is now stepping up to the plate.

Union Farm where I bought my tractor, they still wont sell online the common maintenance items, so to save my self ware and tare and two hours of time, I buy motor oil, filters............. at Coleman Equipment halfway across the country for under $15.00 S&H and inside of 5 days I have my tractor maintenance stuff at my door. Talk about an easy peezy web site, this is another site at the top>>>> Cart | Coleman Equipment

The biggest winners with on line shopping is the carriers (UPS USPS etc)
Often some brick and mortar outlets can still compete but U have to be shopping wise and have time to do it. One big overhead with 'brick and mortar stores' is the overhead of that store front (taxes etc).
Those 'online' vendors skip all the overheads by working (often) out of the basement or offshore.
My tactic is to foresee future needs and stockpile so that way shipping delays don't matter quite as much, by the same token I usually take advantage of sales on staples as the savings usually (always) exceed any interest my bank will give me.
Places like COSCO also provide great savings as long as U have space to store the excess.
My biggest problem is with 'flat rate shipping' as offered by many on line venues. All designed for the lazy vendor that wants an 'easy way out' and that is worst if U are buying 'over the border' (USA to Can or in reverse).

Unfortunately, the brick & mortar stores usually have a service department too, and these will go the way of the once ubiquitous automobile service stations over time that did car repairs in their service bays that have since been replaced with snack counters.
So, I will admit to being a "Prime" member as well, but I don't enjoy seeing the demise of conventional shopping and the jovial interactions with the parts counter peeps. The evolution is inevitable, but slamming the door on someone on their way out is not taking the magnanimous approach.

The only way a brick&mortor tractor dealer will go under is if tractors never break down, or the dealer no longer has a tractor mechanic, every now and then we still have to have our tractors serviced by someone who knows what there doing or has the tooling. But in the meantime more local dealers should get on the online selling train.
