agreed, that is exactly why I talked myself out of the 3520 tractor, what other unknowns are there lurking and why would a dealer not do a thorough job of going over the machine.

I have a couple reasons why im looking at the deere units, NO ONE ( that i am aware of ) makes a tractor in the size of the Deere with a belly mower - they make all kinds of excuses why as to compaction, scalping, stress on tractor, poor mowing results, take your pick...........deere took it upon themselves to keep on making and not only that one up their competitors on the new larger 2 series units and still have a belly mower with new better features - I am not true to any color, I have had good/bad of everything - I just sold my Ford GT75, Have a 2210 deere, own a farmall, an IH, and Volvo, experience with Kubota, Case, Takeuchi, Bobcat, so NO on brand/color. However I do want good dealer support. I have a good Kubota/new Holland/deere dealers I would consider doing business with that are all within a reasonable distance. There is a Mahindra dealer within reason and an LS dealer. But again, their belly mower tractors are small.

Maybe this will help, I want ONE machine to mow with - one machine to do small loader work for landscaping w/out tearing up my current yard/landscaping. one machine to haul wood with a trailer, one to do food plots and small enough to haul with implements. I do not want a rear mount finish mower for around the house and yard so that is out of the question. R4 tires only - turf not good enough traction I have a couple wet spots I have to mow around not to mention the dirt work.

I want enough hp to run the mower and do food plot work. I want enough loader capacity to do the yard work and maint. I wanted enough weight to do work yet not rut up the yard. I have a large skid steer and large tractors for my pasture work. I do not want a zero turn although it would make more sense for mowing but I am trying to reduce barn space and tires/engines/maint.

So if you can come up with a machine that would work with a close reputable dealer I would consider it. It has to be Hydro - It has to have independent lift on the deck 3 point, it has to have good lights, it has to work for my wife and daughter as they will run it also. I do not like the slick metal platforms on the Kubota - Mahindra, I like the rubber mats to reduce slipping with wet shoes/feet. I also do not know of a machine other than the B series Kubota that has a belly deck but still its not as big of a machine, has slick floor/deck where you ride. I also have had a great experience with the local deere dealer so that is an option. I have not looked at the boomer units maybe they have something comparable with a belly mower the size of a 2 series deere?

The Yanmar YT235 is about the same size as the 2038R and is offered with a belly mower. Wife friendly with the switch operated PTO and HST. Three range transmission, mid-PTO, and auto-throttle.

Yanmar builds all the engines for John Deere compact tractors and has built entire tractors for Deere. They build the entire tractor from the wheels up in Japan.

The only issue is that you don’t have a dealer within 100 miles of you. However, there are eight dealers between 100-200 miles.

I was aware of the yanmar engines and have owned a couple and nothing but stellar things to say about them, if their tractors are anything like their engines I wouldn't be afraid in the least - I hope the 2210 wasn't one of their creations I don't have good things to say about that model - I will check out the yanmars and see what I think

bummer on dealers, bummer on only 60inch deck option.............so much for that idea.......if I am going to make a change I don't want to go backwards so the search continues

Searcy, are you paying cash for your tractor or intending to finance? Jeff posted a thread here with a video you should look at:

https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...e-increases-tractors-implements-messicks.html

Sounds like you love the auto-connect mower deck which is the sweetest design drive over deck out there which is keeping you in the Deere camp. I was stuck on Deere and 2R/3R until my wife and I discussed what we really needed the tractor to do - we came up with snow removal, food plot, excavation work, tree/grapple work - but mowing could be done with a separate cheaper lawn mower - which allowed me to move into a larger utility tractor which was not much more than the compacts. For what your needs are I think that the 2R series fits what you want if you are looking at Deere. If you are financing and have good credit Deere is offering 0% for 60 months right now or 1.9% for 72 months I believe as well. If paying cash for the $23k price point (the used model on the lot) you could finance the $4k difference for the new 2R series. If you looked through those listings I posted for you then you probably noticed the best used deal was from a private seller on Craigslist and not buying used equipment from a dealer. Of course, with a dealer you can always throw a counter-offer on a piece of used equipment - the worst they can say is no. I just wanted to point out Jeff's post because 6 months from now that used deal may be even a little harder to find than now. Decisions decisions. :)

trade plus cash - I just ran across the boomer and case ih they only have a 66 inch deck it appears on the 30 to 40 hp units and no I don't like the workmaster so its out - the farmall 35 or 40 seems similar but their website doesn't show mower decks/sizes for some reason or im too stupid to figure out what to click on - tried finding some on t-house but none with decks I could find, mind you my wife is driving and I am working from my hot spot so these bumps are brutal on my typing lol - as for the autoconnect actually id prefer not as I have heard the pto bangs around into the carriage/linkage on it due to the angles but Deere doesn't offer another deck for them - I rekon in another 10 yrs I wont be crawling around under things as much so it would be nice but in the mean time im fine with whatever

The Farmall 35/40 are the same exact thing as the Boomer 35/40 - both made by LS M-tron for Case New Holland. I noticed too that the New Holland website has more info than the Case website sometimes which is odd because they are the exact same company just being sold under different names. I think Deere has the run on everyone when it comes to mower decks on heavier tractors. Kubota offers mid-mount mower on B3350 but it only weighs in at 1896 lbs so maybe a little small for your needs. Kubota used to sell a mid-mount mower that fit the Grand L series but they don't offer anymore and those models cost more than Deere anyways. Did you look at a Massey 1736? You can put a 72" mid-mount mower on that model specifically and the tractor base weight is 3362 lbs. I recommend taking the wife to check it out and make sure she is ok with the suspended pedals on the HST, though. Vahrenberg Implement is your local dealer.

hmmmm I don't think my wife would like suspended pedals BUT I will show here so she can see what they are all about - she likes the pedals on the 2210

217 CASE IH FARMALL 35C For Sale In FERGUS FALLS, Minnesota | TractorHouse.com

cant tell what size deck this is though presuming its a 66? I kind of like my deck to stick out a little more to get close to things and not hit with chassis

ugh not one 1736 or 1742 on T house with a mmm deck

The Case Farmall brochure says the tractor width on the 35C is 66.4" so that would have to be a 72" mower deck.

so if LS makes these CNH and FNH tractors, what is the difference in those vs the LS?

Paint?
