Upgraded pick up beds

The bed is pretty cool, but I just despise those hideous, huge black fender flares that seem to be the rage. On the Ram they show, the flares block part of the directionals.

Unless that bed dumps I don't see the purpose

As far as I’m concerned there’s dump beds and glass sledgehammer beds. For something under the impression of built for work a pickup bed is awful. A glass sledgehammer might actually hold up better.

Surprisingly I kind of like it. Looks kind of utilitarian and military. Bling, without Bling!

When I got my first and new pickup, a 94 Dakota, I went to pick up some cut fire wood at a property my Dad owned. Plopped the piece of apple on the side rail and made a nice dent. I have hated the HD pickups ever since. Tuna Fish Can Thin Garbage! Maybe this bed is the right thing. Maybe even something worthy of being called heavy duty. My 6.6 GMC surely aint!

Looks like a Home Depot rent-by-hour truck. I like the flat bed. Hopefully the sides fold down.

I would have no use for it but it does, sort of, look cool. I can only imagine how much extra it would add to the cost of an already UBER expensive Ram Power Wagon.

I do not like the fender flares or that ridiculous raised air intake.

Around here, with our salty roads and ocean air, that's the type of body that gets installed when the pickup box rots away. The design and build vary from basic backwoods rough-sawn lumber to sophisticated steel or even aluminum. Not used to seeing that on a brand new chassis.

Don’t know what’s special about the truck. Flatbeds have been around forever. It should be possible to order a cab and chassis unit. That is done for many 3500’s that are used for work purposes.

Does catch the eye but I'll leave my coins in the pocket.

I'm with you, it just looks like a flat bed with side boards...

I've built a couple myself out of diamond plate, with side pockets for side boards, one of them even dumps...

It does look to add an extra foot or so usable bed width. Maybe not as important on a full size truck like the RAM, but would come in handy on a small or mid-sized truck.

When i worked in Aus all of our hiluxs and 70 series cruiser utes had these, i really found them to be very useful for doing real work.

Where I grew up a lot of ranchers had flat beds on their pickups. Even the new ones.

The problem with a flat bed or this folding side flat bed is that it's higher than the floor of a regular bed. So you have to lift all your stuff higher. It's ironic that they show it with a heavy dual sport KTM 1190 in the back. It's a bear to get a big bike like that up into a high bed. Note that they don't show the set of ramps that they used to get it in there.

I have cursed my 2500 a lot of times for the height of the bed.

Yeah, I smell a loading dock.
