Tractor
Kubota BX 2360
Need some advice:
I have a 2006 Kubota BX 1500.It has a 54" Mid Mount mower. 4 wheel drive, hydrostatic trans & power steering.Use the tractor for primarily mowing. However have other uses for it as well.Maintaining approx 2.5-3 Acres of grass that I am cutting & maintaining.Should have bought a bigger model to start with.Am looking to upgrade to a 25+ horsepower tractor. Not sure which one to look at.New prices are more than I want to spend & most of the used Kubota's I am finding aren't far behind new prices. Is there a major difference between John Deere,Kubota,New Holland etc.

Want to find something reasonable but don't want to sacriifce quality.

All of the names you listed are good and have a multitude of models in your size range. My closest dealer is Deere and the next brand is about 70 miles farther away. So far I have been very satisfied with the Deere equipment.

I would look at all brands for used equipment instead of narrowing the field too much. Also consider trading up to a larger Kubota as your dealer may provide you with a decent deal. Trading up is always costly though and the reason I promote buying larger to newbies in most cases.

Something else to consider is renting some larger equipment for a short term get the big chores done and return the equipment. Might be waaaaaaaaay cheaper.

+1 to Steve's comments. Just thinking out of the box a bit, you might also consider hanging on to the BX for all or some of the mowing and adding a larger, older tractor for your heavier work. You can often find older farm-type equipment at quite reasonable prices (vs. a recent model compact) and you might locate something that has been taken care of and hasn't been worn out. For some people, that's a workable alternative to having a single, all-purpose machine.

How about just adding a zero turn mower to the fleet, and keep the BX since you use it for other things also.

If you upgrade, you would need to go to a B series to get a 72 inch deck, and 26HP

Do you want/need an FEL on your new tractor?
What's your budget?

FEL would be nice to have.

Budget of under $10K

Have you checked to see what your trade in would leave you with on a 2630 Kubota with FEL and 72 inch deck?
