Update 7411 Quick attach loader Loose

RE: One last note if anyone is using a 7411 Quick attach loader check your attaching bolts. On our F6640SL we found the left 2 up under the cab missing and the right 2 up under the cab loose only held in by a hydraulic line that ran by them. Also the 2 rear bottom bolts one was missing and the other loose. These are all 3/4" grade 8 bolts with lock washers. This would have given us a real great day if we hadn't caught them. We checked the boomer and the other loader we have and there were no apparent problems like this.

Update:
My bad we found more loose and missing bolts today (should of found them before). There are four more bolts down low under the cab (Total of 8)two were missing and two were loose which caused the ones we already tightened to loosen again. We also found the 6 bolts that attach the front of the engine block to the front end casting backing out or loose. We spent a coulpe of hours going over all the bolts today. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem??

We have seen this, and recommend after the first few uses of a new loader install to check the bolts on the mounts for tightness. It's similar to stopping can checking straps on a trailer after driving a few miles. A fresh layer of paint can also cause bolts to loosen. The number of bolts you found loose or missing seems excessive, maybe mechanic didn't torque them all down during installation? Every time you grease zerks you should inspect bolts and mounts.

Thanks for the input. We intend to watch all our loaders for loosening mounting bolts during regular greasing. This 1993 F6640SL was purchased used, with the loader already attached, over 3 years ago though. That is what is puzzling. The loader hasn't been off once since we got it. The only thing changed was the QA 4 in1 bucket to QA forks To QA york rake and back. That shouldnt make a difference though. We haven't painted it only washed and pressure washed a few times. This was a "Town Owned Machine" that was traded in. We bought it used from the dealer as is to replace a 1964 AC I600. When I spoke to the Town head mechanic he told me they had split the machine and put a new clutch in it 2 years before we bought it, so approx 5 years ago. Do you think they didn't torque it right and its just loosening now? or is there something else going on I should be watching for. I'm supprised about paint causing them to loosen. I was planning on spraying them so it would be easier to see if they move but I quess I'll stay away from that and just put a wrench on them when we grease.

You are probably useing the loader more and harder than the town did. If when they reinstalled the loader, they didn't get a couple of bolt tight, it has gradually worked the others loose. I would locktite the bolts.

We only had 2"x3/4" bolts here so we put them on temporarily with extra washers, ordered the 1 1/2" X3/4" that it calls for and will use locktite when they get here. Which strength lock tite would you suggest.
