This. There are different classes of forks, the rails are different widths depending on the class.

Hmmm. OK, best idea so far. I measured it, and I can put 16" forks in the lower position, 16" forks in the upper position, and 23-5/8" forks in the top-to-bottom combo. But none of these ideas account for the lower fork rail in the middle of the frame. Any forks using that position will be about 8" off of the ground.

Im leaning towards the cement block idea, for the upper set of 16" rails, and lower rails for standard skids.

Looking, there are 4 standard spacings:

Carriage (Forklift Carriage)
There are four sizes of forklift carriages available: Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, and Class 4.
Class 1 Carriage: Can hold loads of up to 2,000 lbs. Carriage bar spacing is 13 inches.
Class 2 Carriage: Can hold loads of up to 5,500 lbs. Carriage bar spacing is 16 inches.
Class 3 Carriage: Can hold loads of up to 10,000 lbs. Carriage bar spacing is 20 inches.
Class 4 Carriage: Can hold loads of up to 15,500 lbs. Carriage bar spacing is 25 inches.

Probably 2 positions for Class 2 forks.
