I doubt this is really arc blow, a picture would help but all of these electrodes run better on DC+, there is a lot of temptation to fool with everything but set it all to dc+ and take or bust the knobs off. 6012 mainly was used in sheetmetal work on straight, mig has about made it obsolete.
