OK! Now how many of you have had the FEL bucket position rod go belly up? Secondly, the paint is falling off the Fel left arm near the bucket swivel pin. When hitting the stops with the bucket it slams into the arm and causes the primer and orange color coat to flake off like a Hungarian pretzel. Otherwise! been digging end post and T post holes for the swine corral. Seems this tractor is designed for lite weight city folk, not real hard working Americans. Need to buy a gallon of black smoke cleaner for the sludge build up on the front left FEL arm. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Oh boy an update! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Why would the bucket level rod go belly up?

Slamming painted steel will always win out over the paint. Don't slam it.

The smoke on the loader comes off pretty easy with Simple Green.

Rat, you tell me! The rod probably got some dirt or ??? and bound up and bent like a soggie tootsie roll. Noticed also, that the roll pin FEL has a tendency to catch rocks. When I curl the bucket rocks may have been caught and caused the paint to flake??? Why ME!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the simple green idea! The BH can rip a root and then some, lotsa GPM. Need to hear from other L3130 owner's (L3130 HST only, please) that have had problems like myself, beginning to think that the mountain has a whammy on it! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Remebmer the bucket level rod can be cut, it is even mentioned in the manual. My guess is it got bent and you did not notice it, mine is much shorter then original. Still not clear on the loader paint issue. I have virtually no paint left inside my bucket, the bottom is shiny steel, in other words, I have used it pretty hard. That end of the loader sees a lot of abuse, I guess I just expect it.

Ramon49...

I had the impression that after getting over your fuel problems you were kind of satisfied with your L3130.

Is it safe to assume this update concerns dissatisfaction with how well the paint sticks, and not with the power/work capability of the tractor?

Or are you calling the tractor a lightweight, or ???

Anyway, overall what it is? Thumbs up, or thumbs down?

Until I saw this thread I thought your thumb might be trying to point upwards on its own, even if ever so slightly... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Now I'm back to wondering again. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Ramon . I'm an hst 3130 owner . I have a 513 loader on it . There was a post by me recently indicating I'd gone too light on the loader . Could be right ,but after stepping back and thinking about it .... I'm starting to think I'm expecting it to behave like a dozer , not a loader . As for the thing that the loader is attached to ( 3130 ), It's been a very reliable and good machine .
If I had as many percieved , or, real problems with my machine as you do with yours .... It'd be gone ! I wouldn't keep posting how much grief it's causing me . Posting your various problems here on a continous basis aren't going to get anything solved for You. And, they are getting to the point of being boring in the extreme . I certainly hope You can find a machine that lives up to Your needs . All the best , whether You keep the 3130 or trade it . John

Dick, I mean John, you know all about this selling or trading in stuff now. It can be old, but if it looks good, folks will snap it up and don't mind paying the extra for it. AS far as Ramon's resale goes, it would be very high especially if he sold it in California. He did not have to pay sales tax and in California he can resell it and we don't either so getting a little more for it because of that is not out of the question. I would seriously consider it myself if I had misgivings about such a purchase.

When I quit farming I went from a JD7810 to a Kubota B2710. And I'll tell you straight out, I'm happy with it. Perhaps that's becuase I knew what a big machine could do and not do, and didn't expect a 27hp CUT to perform like a big Ag tractor.

When I was young, we didn't have big horse power. We learned how to finesse a job to get it done. I find I've gone full circle. I can do almost anything I want if I take it in small enough bites. It just requires a little thought instead of reliance on raw horses.

I don't beat my machines up but I do use them. And using a machine means losing some paint here and there and sometimes even the odd ding. It's part of operating tractors.

I've read your threads with interest, Ramone, and I'll tell you, just changing the way you sit won't get the burr out from under the saddle.

When you load the bucket from a small stockpile of dirt, will the bucket roll back or does it stop?

Mine quits if you try to crowd the bucket and get it heaped up with dirt. If I get about 1/2 or 5/8 of a bucket full it's fine, it just doesn't have the power to go into a stockpile and come out with a full bucket of dirt.

I have operated an old I-H 3414, which is about 30 something hp and it will get a full bucket of dirt so will and old I-H 454 and both of these are 2 WD.

If I'm doing some clearing the tractor has plenty of power to push over privet hedge, but the bucket won't go under them and
uproot them. I even had some dirt and debris in the bucket and was raising it and a 3/4" Kudzu vine stopped the bucket from going up.

My guess is the pressure needs checking, but then again maybe the LA513 is not supposed to pick up more than this. I can live with it, it just takes a little longer to get something done.

I can heap my bucket full on my 3130 with no problem. I usuallywork the fel bucket into it as I am moving.
As for the leveling rod, What I did was parked my 3130 on my garage concrete floor ^ lower the bucket to the concrete, made sure it was perfectly level, meaning the bottom of the bucket was flush with the concrete, then I caut the rod so that it is flush with the tube that it slides in & out of, Now I always no when my loader is dead leavel with the ground.
Ramon - I wish you lived closer to me so you could try my Gst to compare power to yours! I think you would be surprised. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
