Thank you. That's our sweet little Chloe who's resting in peace with the others atop the hill with the panoramic view up/down the lake. Amazing how three years later the void of her absence can still bring a tear.

I am sorry to hear that. It is really hard when they are gone. I always have a Brittany.. When I lost the last one, Sammie, she was 16. I couldn't believe how many times I would turn around to talk to her AFTER she was gone. I guess it is easy to forget how often we look for and talk with them. We always get another one after one is lost. My wife says "if that didn't happen, we would never have saved and known Lulu, the next one. That is Sammie in the picture with me. The good news -- they had a great life, had purpose, and will never be forgotten. They teach us and give so much. Best Wishes.

Dogs are my hobby. I have a springer that is my bird dog and a standard poodle that is a truffle dog. Recently we have been doing doggy daycare for a Rhodesian Ridgeback. The neighbors work 3-14s, and the poor dog does not take well to being confined 14 hours a day while they are at work. My two are females and he is a male, so they get along well. They drop him in our kennel at 6 AM and we bail him out when we get up.

I have a lazy man's philosophy of dog training. I keep training sessions short, 5 minutes or less, but do them 2 or 3 times a day. The dogs love the attention and grow to insist that I do the training sessions. Now if the same philosophy just worked on the wife...

It's something to do in my retirement. I have a thing for intelligent dogs that started when I was 9 and my parents brought home a border collie. My current springer is the finest field bred springer I have ever met in my life, and I have met several. She will be my last field dog, and there's nothing like going out on a high note. The standard poodle is legendary for its intelligence, and the Rhody was bred by crossing with Rhodesian wild dogs that had a true tribal culture. Teaching them all is a matter of "one and done." Every dog needs a job.

Hi Larry. He is a luck puppy - and you have a lot of company for him. Since they all get along. He may have more fun at your house than when he goes home. Ha
