Backhoe Uh-oh backhoe no go

GGRip,
do you have a working relationship with your local JD dealer? If so I would give them a call and see if they will answer your questions. I have usually had good luck in dealing with parts and service people in situations like this. They help you find the problem. You buy the parts from them and everyone is happy.

best of luck

Roy

The backhoe is used to dig up irrigation lines in the athletic fields. Yes the poor teachers need a raise, but everyone that keeps the system running can do without. I didn't expect to have to endure snide comments or defend my job to those of you who feel yourself superior to a grounds keeper. Don' let me keep you from climbing back on your high horse to look down upon the rest of us. A heartfelt thank you for those with helpful information. To the rest of you dropouts, go back to the shallow end of the pool...

Sorry GGrip.
If I recall, you were the one who introduced the "whine" with the comment
""If Arnold the "Governator "would stop trying to balance the states' budget by taking money from education, the district could probably afford to purchase the parts and shop manuals. Unfortunately, time is not on our side ,as this equipment is used daily.""

Sorry to have expanded on that introduction. I'll go back under the rock. :D
But I still will think that our School Districts need to get their priorities straight when their objective is "education". :) I'd rather see you running your own business and contracting out to the School District for the everyday use of the backhoe.
Hope you are finding the problem.

I think they hire people to wax the floors inside the buildings, too.
Unfortunately, the buildings where the education takes place require maintenance (inside and out) and it's almost always cheaper to do that in house.

Schools are getting the short end of the tax stick almost everywhere, though.

Don't let them get to you, most of those that complain about them "gummint jobs" probably retired from one! Keep up the good work.
