"Ugly trailer" pictures

Probably not a new thread, but I saw this at the local mall today and could barely keep from laughing at how bad it looked.

I wish I had picks of the rigs people in ghetto Memphis were hauling tires on when the city was paying a dollar a tire for them. I saw on literally all wood including tongue, frame everything but the wheels and axle, no springs. He was pulling it with a Saturn and had tires piled up on the roof of the car as well as in the backseat and in the trunk (lid open stacked in as many as would fit plus 2 more)

Did they use a treated 4X4 as a tongue or nail together a pair or 2X4's....:laughing:

I would use an engineered floor joist.....lol

Looked like 2x's nailed together.

Here is my ugly all metal 4x6 dump trailer. About 20 years ago I removed the drop axle and cut down a mobile home axle to the right width. I slid three pieces of tubing over the axle before I welded it back together. then I welded the new longer tongue onto the tubing, with a pivoting ball for the original tongue.

To dump, just unlatch the original coupler and raise the tongue.

Back up a little for a 90 degree dump angle.

With it hooked to the higher hitch on my tractor, I could get a 180 degree dump angle, completely upside down!

I agree, may be ugly BUT it's beautifully designed for the uses it serves. Can we call it "Fugly" (functional ugly)...?

Being retired navy, functional is not the first word that comes to mind with the work fugly. But I like it.
