Thank you for the Heavens Above link! I have added it to My Favorites list. I do believe in UFO's / Extra-Terrestrials. I love to sit out at night and watch the sky, with both celestial binoculars and telescope. Judging by what I have seen televised on ancient man's actions with Stonehenge, and the large desert drawings in South America etc. things only visible from an altitude, indicates to Me that perhaps there has been some interaction in the past. Look at Earth from their perspective,,,,,wars being fought over religion, rich and poor co-mingling, natural resources being misused, pollution, waste etc.
Now, not saying that they aren't outside our orbit lined up like teenagers at a drive in movie watching us " Earth.. The Trailer Park of the Universe"
One thing they certainly would be learning..is how NOT to do things...

Merry Christmas everyone, All the best to you and yours!! Have a safe and Happy Holiday!

Cheers

Roger

I'm curious if anyone on TractorByNet has any opinions on UFO's. I find the subject fascinating. And not from the wild sensational side... But from a scientific, data based point of view.

Things like the Nazca Lines in Peru and UFO accounts from reputable sources like Air Force pilots, etc really add validity to the claims of UFOs.

So what do you all think? Truth or tall tales?

One clear winter night in 1996 the wife and i were sitting in our hot tub out on the deck ( house out of town several miles).
She said what the heck is that? I looked up and there was a very bright white light moving at high speed. It then started making abrupt 90 degree right and then left hand turns- without slowing down at all. Eventually it just shot off at an angle and disappeared.

Never seen anything move like that before or since. I don't know what it was.

Kelly Johnson saw a UFO and became a believer, at least in the craft-and reportedly director of Lockheed Ben Rich gave a death bed statement about where some of our technology came from.

When guys like Kelly Johnson and pilots with thousands of hours see UFOs , It makes me think there are (possibilities).

I saw something I could not explain once... Back in college, I was looking up at the sky one night and I saw a cigar shaped light traveling fast, like a shooting star on a low trajectory. The weird thing about it was about half way across the sky, it changed directions. It just continued on out of sight and never made a sound. It covered the whole sky horizon to horizon in just a few seconds.

Dean

I saw something like that once on a lonely road in the California desert once. What was funny was that overnight ufo guy was on the radio. I can't recall his name.

I know old fashion search lights on low clouds or in haze can make some pretty interesting events for the local police. They are round and change direction abruptly. hahahaa

The pallet thread discussed UFOs in detail. However, no one had pictures of the aliens so it didn't happen.

My brother and I saw a UFO one day while we were fishing in the Kentucky River back in the early 1960's, mid-day, probably 300 feet in the air. That thing looked to be about 100 feet in diameter, silver colored and made no noise, had no lights or ports whatsoever. We sat and watched it for at least five minutes, then it took off so fast it was almost like it had just vanished, still no sound at all, no wind blast, nothing, just one second it was there, the next second, it was just a dot going over the far ridges.

Soon after that, the Air Force started flying large jets low level over the area for a couple of months almost daily, but the newspaper wrote that they were just checking out radar coverage for a new system upgrade.

Now whenever we talk about that day, we both laugh and say we came close to be abducted or "probed!", but we were two scared witless kids just sitting on the riverbank watching that thing and wondering what it was going to do. That was/is a very rural area, very few folks around and we never found anyone else that saw, or would admit to, seeing anything like that.

If I ever get to meet a UFO pilot I plan on asking him why none of them can drive in a straight line. :D

Make your own conclusions:

Did someone mention that fellow Danikan? He has some cohorts. Do some investigating.

Go google and look for Ancient Aliens debunked. Lots of interesting stuff on the ancients.

Me, several times in the past year I have observed a large?? Bright Sphere travelling from mainly north to south. It was visible for maybe five minutes? Had to take a break to refill the mug. Interesting observation. UFO???

Moss, look for several places in Texas that have had observations of strange lights.

Awesome story! Seems like a lot of sightings in the 60's
