I am posting this for my dad.

I have a New Holland TZ25DA with a TZ Grass Catcher attacked. This year I have broken 4 pins (@ $15.oo each that attach the gear box end of the blower to the PTO shaft. The yoke at the glower gearbox end is attached with a recessed bolt シ - 20 X 11/2 long. These bolts are NOT shear pins. The blower fan on the blower turns very easily as well as the whole gearbox assembly. There have been not sticks or foreign debris sucked into the blower. The grass catcher is attached properly and is level. Why am I breaking all these bolts? The first two years of use I had no problems at all.

:confused::mad:

Same bolt location 4 times or 4 different bolts breaking once?

Same bolt, same location - anyone know of this happening. Dealer is not sure why either. I know that you can turn the impeller and the yolk for the input free and easy when the driveshaft is not connected. I could understand breaking the bolt if it was hard to turn but dad says that it turns super easy. He did not have any problems the first 2 years at all. No change in mount or anything and all of a sudden it is eating 15 dollar bolts.

I don't have this set-up and so can't really add anything, except to ask why are the bolts $15? Are they made of gold?

Might be time to disassemble unit and inspect all parts for wear, etc.

Well the bolts are a hardened steel bolt that i guess is specifically designed for that application. Dad tried regular bolts and those snapped in no time, and went to the dealer and they had to order them, at $15 a peice. Figured that would solve the problem and it did for one mowing session. Again, the first 2 years no problems and no all of a sudden problems.

The problem with dissassembling the unit is the complexity. Seems like it would be simple but not sure if you have one but it is housed inside of a approx 4x6 rectangular tube of steel. I guess if we cant find anything here or from the dealer it will be time to figure out how to break it down to all the parts and inspect everything. Just seeing if someone else has had the same issue.

Thanks for all the responses though - keep em coming

don't know why your bolts would be breaking. -It's gotta be a simple fix.

I Would love to buy a bagger.

What brand did you buy and how much?

Hew Holland makes a great bagger. Mine was purchased in 2007 and I was told 5 minutes off and on. If someone can put mine on in under 30 minutes I would love to watch. Mine was level when I picked up the unit but I have never been able to get it level in the 6 years I have owned it.
