Tractor
TYM T394 HST
I have a HS 394 TYM with a quick attach pallet fork. I was moving a pallet with 33 bags at 50# per bag of mulch. The tractor kept tipping the rear wheel off the ground. I figured this to be about 1650#, is this too much front weight for this tractor? Do I need more weight on the rear?

Thanks for your help and advise

What do you have on the 3 pt when doing this type of work? Like 2manyrocks said, loaded tires are not enough.

I use a 1000# counterweight when i move 1500# generators on my tractor which is rated to lift 2700#. Otherwise rear filled tires lift. Also, very hard on front axle.

Good point. I do not have loaded tires? The only attachment I have for rear weight is a 6' brush hog. Is that enough?

In a pinch you could try loading some bags of feed/concrete anything heavy on the bushhog. Matter of fact you can add some of that mulch on there... 500 ish pounds is a good starting place.

loaded tires on my 63 Ford no PS. and it helps with traction. With a FEL. I use a old International BH. just for counter balance on the 3pt. Just shy of 5' so it stays inside the rear tire Disp.. Super heavy and easily will lift the wheels off my small Yanmar utilty tractor when it was lifted. Done it on purpose before knowing I was going to be doing a wheelie! Rarely use it for brush cutting when I do it's brutal.

Put several bags of the mulch on the bushog and youll be good to go. Filled tires (ballast) is good, but counterweight, carried low, behind the axle is more effective when using the loader.
