TYM 451 Clutch Seized

We have a TYM 451 with a seized clutch. Can depress the pedal and it won't stop the tractor. I know your thinking frozen plates, but this happened overnight not over winter. Unit has 1700hrs on it and we had an expansion valve go on the ac, other than that love the unit...until this problem...any ideas folks. We tried pulling the tractor and popping the clutch to free it...no luck....

With 1700 hours you may simply need to adjust the clutch for play. I had to do this with my JD traqctor as it wouldnt go out of gear. The dealer simply adjusted the clutch.

Was looking at it in the shop tonight, and agree, we will try adjusting it first....had just washed it so was too wet too try tonight....thanks for the reply!!

My Mahindra 4110 is built by TYM and it just so happens I had a clutch problem a couple months ago that sounds like yours and it was one of the bolts in the pressure plate that broke. One of the 3 that goes thru the plate and is recessed below the face of it. Luckily I had a good used pressure plate on hand for it and got it repaired in one day.

That makes sense, we are in process of splitting the tractor now, alot of lines to take off, especially with the cab, wished they used a split firewall panel...

Yea, when mine broke I still had what felt like decent pedal play & pressure but wouldn't release. My plate had the 3 fingers and the remaining 2 that still had good bolts were operating, giving me the pedal but the 1 broken bolt caused the 3rd finger not to operate thus keeping the plate in contact with the disc for 1/3 of the diameter.

You were bang on, it was a broken bolt, will replace all three so we don't have to go into there again, thanks for the advice...figured someone else would have had the same bad luck....

How many hours on yours before the bolt broke???

My service book is out in the shed but I know it was right around 2040 hours. I was hoping to just replace the bolt in mine but there was a little tab for the finger that also broke and it was riveted on and wasn't repairable with just standard shop tools - I wouldn't have known where to get the little bracket to replace it with.
