Let's get back on schedule here...you were accusing me of something, right?

So...talking to Dad a few days ago, he went to they Syracuse airport to pickup my step-mom, and while he's there, who does he run into...Eddie Money. Very gracious guy...my dad says .."Hope ya have 2 tickets to paradise"...he's lucky Eddie didn't punch him the nose.

My dad was a DJ for a lot of years and had interviewed Eddie Money 15-30 years ago (I know, lots of time, but they knew too), neither remembered the time, but Eddie was very gracious.

Good stuff.
Always been a fan of Eddie Money. Just about every high school in the country used "Two Tickets to Paradise" as the prom theme in the late 70's early 80's. Remember the blue and the brown tuxedos?

That's very cool. I often wondered what happened to guys like him. How can they put out hits then just fall off the face of the earth?
Nice to hear he's still on the go.

This was always a favorite of mine...

Of course, I loved it when it was "new", one of the first "CD's" I ever owned.

Speaking of those with long careers and few hits, do you remember Ray Peterson? "Tell Laura I Love Her" and "Corrine, Corrina" were his two biggest hits. His younger brother was one of my best buddies in High School. He always said that The Righteous Brothers stole "Soul and Inspiration" from him, but I was never convinced of that. Ray's biggest claim to fame was a 4-octave voice range.:)

JF, that's pretty neat. I always liked Eddie Money, and I'll bet your Dad has some good stories from years past in the DJ business.

Some of the older acts from the 60's and 70's are still going strong, with the oldie's concerts. Someone once told me that a decent older act could earn as much or more in one oldie's concert today as when they were headline acts back in the height of their careers. And I'll bet they do a better job of taking care of themselves and their money than they ever did back in the day.

Went to a lineup a few years ago with The Grassroots, Flo and Eddie from The Turtles, Gary Puckett, and Tommy James. Still a lot of fun to hear and see. My Bride and I were just talking last week about trying to catch another concert or two this year from our old favorites.

Earlier this year, I tried to surprise my Bride with tickets to one of the final shows of Glen Campbell. Had the tickets bought, but we ran into a conflict and couldn't go. Thankfully my brother and his son-in-law were able to go. We really wanted to make it, as Glen has Alzheimer's and won't be touring anymore. Sad. And we are losing a lot of the old performers to age and other ailments. The list is starting to get pretty long.

Eddie Money is on my list to try to see. Thanks for the reminder.
