I always KNEW these must exist SOMEWHERE;
The GB Line range - GB Line ploughs - Reversible disc plough GBL DPH - Gregoire Besson - worldwide SOIL WORKING EQUIPMENTS specialist
Not that I would privately import one, or go to great lengths to find same/similar Chinese, Indian, Mexican or USA produced unit - it was just satisfying to find that someone does actually make them.
I don't have the tools or skills to fab one from "scratch 'n scrap" (-:
I know, quoting your own post is a little weird, but just for reference...
I did the usual thing of looking for a U.S. distributor, just to see if I could price these and how the price might be for an implement imported from France (vs China or India).
I went to the map on their web site, clicked on the North East/New England area of U.S. and it said they have no representation in that zone.
Same for the rest of U.S.
Then I tried "neighbors to the north" and it turns out that they have a place in St Hyacinthe, about 30 miles ENE of Montreal.
Here is where it got interesting, that whole street seems to be "industrial", it includes an address for Rad Equipment.
I checked this one, it is the tractor snowblower builder that TBN has other threads on.
Now I'm wondering how much other small scale (Cat 2 & 1) implements are manufactured in Canada.
Not just in "all of Canada", but on that street alone (-:
I don't think of Canada as "a country of small farms", but maybe some economic differences (Government policies, taxes, incentives toward small farming - vs encouragement of agribiz, etc.) keep small Ag implement manufacture still viable there ?
It is a day's drive for me, round trip - no idea what border delays would be with a truck and 1/2 ton of plough on the back.
Would probably get searched for drugs, explosives, etc.
I can't imagine farm equipment would have a high import duty though.
Hmmm.....
I will probably search out border importers in New Hampshire (no sales tax) and perhaps Vermont (closer to Montreal, so MIGHT be a bit cheaper on freight).
