Turn Signal/Flasher

.Is it possible to change out my left/right turn signal switch and install a three position switch to create a turn signal/flasher type of set up and still use my two prong relay? Will I have to change that and if so what type or prong count.....do I have to do any other wiring? Thanks

This is most elemental turn signal system.... Yes you can ignore the pilot lamp (dash lamp) of three prong flasher and use a two prong flasher if you wish...

Concept of "early" thermal type flashers....

Switch should be a single pole "ON-OFF-ON" type...

The designation on flasher pins may be different as to what particular manufacturer chose to designate them as... New flashers may even use DIN numbers as designations...

You may also to consider "electronic" flasher as rate will be consistent no matter if you flash incandescent bulbs or LEDS or 1 or many bulbs...
