NH TC-40D
I been operating my new TC-40D (fel, backhoe, RFM, rock rake) for a few months now, I've been spreading and moving earth, moving stumps & boulders. The turfs have been holding up quite well. I also have a weekly athletic field maintenance contract (mowing, aeration, infield, etc) so that is the reason I went with the turfs. The front tires NH puts on this tractor are fairly wide and allow for good weight distribution. Of course they plug right up with mud, but a with a little common sense, they should hold up just fine. Someday I may invest in a set of R-1's or R-4's for mud season. Other than that, the tractor has done everything I have asked of it. I am sure glad I went with the Class III machine. It is perfect for the type of work I am doing, very versatile.

R4s are not much better, if at all, in mud.

You stole my line!

With low weight, R4's spin on top of the ground. With high weight, they spin down in the ruts. You can't win. In dirt that doesn't sink too much however, they're fine.
