Finally--thanks to all the advice and comments (also, in spite of! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) I will be picking up my PT425 in Commerce City, Colorado.

I only purchased the small bucket and mini-hoe since the decision to go with 425 rather than 422 used up the $2K for attachments.

I'll do some posts after I receive it to add to the already large body of knowledge here.

Regarding the engine, though, the salesperson there assured me that it is NOT a Command Pro. It is the Command model. Apparently, each production 'run' is a bit different.

FYI total price was retail for all items ($11,200) + approx. $695 shipping to a location nearly 100 miles away.

Closer deliver would have added a few dollars per mile for that last 100!

That's a bit of a mystery as tractors from China and Humvees from the east coast can make the trip here for 1/2 the amount.

Thanks again for all the help!

Just hope I don't need all the info about bent pushrods, broken welds, flat tires, etc.

The advantage of a somewhat pessimistic/skeptical personality is that you're never disappointed, and sometimes pleasantly surprised.

Congratulations catsco. You will like what you are getting.

If the engine really is a Command and not a Command Pro, that means it will have regular spark plugs, smaller oil and air filters, and--if I understand correctly--no oil cooler.

If that is truly the case, perhaps it would be a good idea to run a high grade synthetic oil instead of dino-lube.

Did the sales person really assure you that it was a standard Command model? It sounds like the person was trying to be positive about a downgrade. Just curious, since it seems strange.

Mark -

Congrats, and please let us know all the details!

You know, Kristi told me the EXACT same thing last year (No, sir, it is definitely the Command, NOT the Command Pro), and she was mistaken. I'd be curious what happens with yours. I verified it when it arrived, and as SnowRidge says - it was definitely a mistake on her part (in my favor).

Sincerely,

Keep us informed of the engine type, I think it will be the command pro.
The fun is about to begin.
