Hi all,
I was in TSC and while talking to the store manager he informed me that they were waiting on their first load of compacts. I asked him about them in as much detail as I could, but he really didn't know a bunch. They are Chinese, they will be re-badged to their name and they will all be 40hp and under. He stated that he is getting 25's, 30's and 35's to start. He sounded like they were going to make a pretty hard run at it. The prices sorta shocked me a little, but until I see them in writing or have another conversation with him, I'll not bother with repeating them. I asked him if they were Jinmas or Fotons. He didn't have a clue. He called them by their re-badged name which I have already forgotten. I hope I haven't missed a post that said all of this and just wasted everyone's time that read this. If I did, please be nice!

Hey Mosby,

Apparently, they know a good value, when they see it.

Before you know it, those little Chinese Tractors will be running around everywhere!!!

Have a nice day,
Joe /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If TSC is going with Jinmas, would be great to have another possible parts supplier. Just incase it was something I didn't have and needed it today.

Whichever chinese tractor, I hope they have researched it some. I hate to see the same mistakes others have plowed through, happen all over again. But have seen numerous others go through that learning curve. IMHO, the assembly and check-out would need to be done at regional centers. I hope they don't expect the individual stores to do it.

Agreed upon the regional centers doing the assembly and check out, but each store should have some kind of "tractor bay" for those who trailer them back to the store for service. It sure would be nice to have a parts supplier nearby. There's a TSC in Bakersfield about 85 miles from my place. Beats going 2000 miles for me!

another thing, I love the pressure the big makers will get to cut their pricing. May even get to a point where the average joe could get his hands on an orange or green tractor. Look how detroit has responded over the years to the asian imports...

I love my Jimna 224/Koyker 160 so far (61 hours). Can you imagine how good the Jinmas will be in another 5 years or so?

I cant imagine that these little tractors aren't shaking up the big boys.

Yknow, my Dad bought a brand new Volkswagen bug in 1957! I was just 7 then...Back in those days you "beeped" every time you saw another one.... Look what happened there!!!.

He bought it after the dealer, who just opened up, completely dismanteled the VW, body parts and all, and put it back together in one weekend. What a promotion. Dad was SOLD! Sorry for getting a little off topic. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I suppose it has to happen, the big guys will take over the market. someone will eventually have the clout to make Jinma stop selling to the independent importer. I have had a major manufacturer tell me they wouldn't sell to me because I was a dealer for one of their larger customers. This is really kind of a first for China, to protect a customer relationship, to bad for me I'm on the wrong side of that commitment. On the other hand there are many small tractor companies starting up in China. No patents there so....who knows. I got into this because I liked the fact that the major players in the Chinese tractor business in the US were small businesses, sort of what I call a "cottage industry". these are the type of businesses that made America what it is (or was at our peak) Entrepenuerial endeavors in a pre fortune 500 world.
