I'm thinking of using the hydraulic fluid from TSC rather than drive to the kubota dealer to buy UDT. Anyone used the TSC variety and any problems?

No, have not used TSC fluid in the Kubota. I switched to synthetic tractor hydraulic fluid in the Kubota. It was about 50 cents more per qt than the super UDT. And now in the winter the HST works smoother and quieter.

I use the TSC hydraulic fluid in my wood splitter but I dont think I would use it in my tractor. It seems a lot heavier than regular Hydro fluid. Dave

I'd make sure it was a hytran type oil rather than a straight hydraulic oil.

If you are talking about the universal tractor hydraulic fluid.. then use.. I use it in my tractors.

I use it in the yanmar, and my NH 1920, and my ford NAA. No problems.. no leaks.. etc.

If you look on the side label, it will give you what specs and manufacturere oils it is considered a replacement for.. for instance.. it specifically states that it meets or exceeds oems specs / is a replacement for the ford/NH m2c134d hy-tran oil, and also the jd303 spec.. etc. Tons of manufactureres are listed. Just take the kubota oil spec/part number with you and see if the oil meets those specs/mentions it as a replacement.

I've not used their regular plain 'hydraulic fluid' like for jacks, etc. As my power steering systems also specify the tractor fluid.. etc.

Yeah I use the TSC HY-TRAN equivalent fluid in my IH stuff with no problems. It saves me quite a bit of money as my 2444 holds 20 gallons. Not sure about using it in the Bota's though.
I think this subject has been beat on before. You might want to a search old messages on this topic.

I used Chevron Synthetic All weather tractor hydraulic fluid. From what the distributor told me - That this was made for a short while and then discontinued. It actually says OK for Kubota on the label. Since it was discontinued he sold it to me at a great price. So far it's been great in the L4310.
