TSC Farmhand 3/4" impact wrench

I went by TSC to get deer corn today. They had the big impact wrench for $99 (regular $179) on clearance. I learned weeks ago TSC is discontinuing the Farmhand brand. The only had one left maybe I should have grabbed it, but I was unsure of the quality and $99, well seems like every time I walk in to TSC I come out with some tool I didn't intend to buy so this time I passed.

I have the new 600 fp IR impact that is a 1/2" tool - got it when I got the new compressor a few weeks ago, really the only use I see for the bigger one is to get the blade nuts off the Rhino cutter that I currently need an 8 foot cheater bar to break loose. Not sure if even the 1000 fp advertised on the 3/4" tool will get those off.

That's funny Alan. I know what you mean, seems like they always have something I think I need! I still have a battery charger I bought 6 months ago, since it was on sale. still in the box!! Oh yeah saw 2 sets of trailer wire kits, (unopened) in the shed. It must be a "man" thing or worse, WE ARE HOARDERS"

By the way, what did they have that granular gold for now??

Corn at my feed store is up to $10.50 for 50#

for the money, look at harbor freight I picked up a 3/4" gun from them end of last year. thing must weight 15 pounds and is a monster.. was quite a bit less than 99$ regular price, and was on sale when i got it.. or you can usually get a 20% coupon for it.

i'd lay odds the farmhand came from the same rice consuming country my HF one did.. probably works the same.. just the hf one costs less...

:laughing::laughing: I know you didn't mean it to be funny, but the nearest HF to Alan is over 50 miles away and you don't usually stop in there for a bag of deer corn.

Besides, it doesn't matter what store you go into if you don't buy the 3/4" wrench. You pay the same ($0) no matter what their price is.

Not sure if even the 1000 fp advertised on the 3/4" tool will get those off.

Alan, you will not get that rated power unless you use bigger diameter air hoses. I don't remember for sure, but didn't you go with 3/8' hoses, as most of us have? You'd need at least half inch hoses for that 3/4" impact to provide any more power than your half inch impact.

you got that right.

I had 'regualr' air hoses for my 3/8 gun and 1/2 gun. when i got that 3/4 gun, I got lucky as work was throwing away 30' of 1/2" hose because it had leaky ends I cut the hose back a few inches and re-hose clamped

the qd ends and male ends back on.

works great and is heavy duty double layer non kinking hose.

Yea I only have 3/8" hose so good thing I didn't get the wrench. I picked up a Farmhand air chisel there a couple weeks ago along with a set of attachments for it. Still sitting in a drawer in the shop - I haven't tried it out yet. I got it for $29 once the clearance started figuring it might help me clean out from under my ZTR deck where the grass had turned to concrete. But it has been so dry since then none has been sticking.

I opened the box and the paperwork with the Farmhand chisel indicates that its made by Campbell Hausfeld - same as my compressor. Maybe not to bad......

I'm especially glad that I didn't buy the impact from Tractor Supply instead of not buying it from Harbor Freight

The deer corn is getting ridiculous. I think it was $12 or so for 40 pounds. I got some corn and also some deer feed to use in the feeder (haven't tried it before and hope they like it). I wish there was another good source. Seems like the "unwashed" corn was about $12 for a 50 pound bag. I need to check the feed store, just seems I think of it when I'm going by Tractor Supply on the way home from work.

dang.. just buy cracked corn or whole corn from the feed store. think you can still get that for 8-9$ per 50#

As a real world data point, I have both an IR2135Ti [1/2] and an IR261 [3/4]. On a 50 foot 3/8 line the 3/4 will take a 1 inch bolt tightened to stall with the 1/2 and turn it about 1/20th of a turn further. I know the 3/4 is not at full rated power, but it still hits harder that the 1/2. Course these are 2 top of the line impacts. The contest between a hot 1/2 IR and an air starved 3/4 NoName would likely come out differently.
