Purchased a older JD #7 backhoe the bucket has 2 missing teeth, I orderd 2 from the dealer but the new ones look nothing like the ones on the bucket. Has any seen teeth like these, and maybe a source to find them. The new ones will almost fit over existing teeth. Trying to avoid cutting all teeth off to change to this style.

The teeth come in two sizes. Most dealers carry only one size. The shanks and teeth on your bucket are well worn. If it were me I'd order new shanks and teeth and start fresh.

It looks like someone got all the good out of those teeth.:) I am not sure of the best repair method but those teeth on the bucket deserve some rest.

Believe it or not...I think those are correct. BUT your shanks are worn to much-you will need to replace them also. I did this last year on a mini-ex bucket. I have pictures somewhere...

I tend to agree, the new tooth looks correct. And I certainly agree with the shanks being shot.

It looks like somebody lost teeth and continued digging with just the shanks. I believe the shanks are around $15 bucks, just make sure that you pre heat both the shank and the bucket before you weld them on. I had alot of issues with them before the pre heat. The shanks are cold forged, the teeth are availible in two sizes but the larger ones are more hd. When you go to install the teeth on the shanks it's alot easier if you cherry red the tooth aroud the hole and the use a good size punch and hammer to pin them in place.

Matt:rolleyes:
