Trying to decide on Case or John Deere

I'm still out on the search for a cab tractor for my farm but still confused. I been looking at use models such as the John Deere 5525 and the Case JX95. Any suggestions

Used tractors I assume since you are looking at the 5525. Both are good tractors. What is your horsepower requirement? 2 or 4 wheel drive? Have you driven both? The control layouts are different. The JX series were/ are no frills basic tractors. They sit up very high unless you look at the C series.

I would look for wet clutch tractor, i.e. one with a powershuttle transmission. A powershift transmission would of course be nice, but I don't know if Case sold one. The New Hollands TL series had them as an option. The Deere is an excellent tractor and you can't go wrong with it. I think it has the nicer cab of the two. Either one will be a fine tractor.

Consider where you will get parts and service because that will likely be more important than which tractor you get in this case. Do you like the nearest dealer? Also, what kind of bargain you get and how many hours the tractor has may make it quite clear.

As an after note, two years ago I looked at both models. The Case dealer had a screaming deal on a JX95 in the showroom. It's a big tractor. The Deere 5525 was a lot more money. I was going to buy a Deere 5083e which I think is an excellent utility tractor and was priced well. Although it was $8k more than the JX I thought it was a nicer tractor and had a power shuttle transmission. I found a used New Holland TN75DA which has a 16x16 power shuttle, is low profile, and was a great price with only 600 hours on it. Case sold it has the jx1075c if you want red ( which I like better then the blue color).
