Hi guys,

I'm all over the board. In reality, I can get by with a CK30 or a CK35.

I'm also looking at the DK35 and DK40. The DK40 has so much more loader capacity, and I will be doing a lot of loader work.

DK40 is roughly 21k. I don't have enough money to purchase cash - but I have half or so.

But then I look at a Kubota GL4240 for around 26-27K.

The thing is, the Kioti doesn't have any financing program -- that's after the 4k cash off.

If I don't put any cash down, the Kioti payment is roughly 403/mo for 60 months.

Similary, the Kubota payment is 433/month for 60 months.

In reality, the 4240 is more comparable to a DK45. The 3940 is a bit under the DK40 but just a hair.. The 3940 is ~1000-1500 cheaper - narrowing the gap.

Now this changes a lot if I put cash into the deal. If I put 10k into it, the numbers favor Kioti more.

It seems like the GL40's are a bit nicer than the Kioti -- just a bit. If you look at sheer cash, the Kioti's come out ahead - but if you're doing any financing, I can't see how you pass on Kubota.

Help me out here, what am I missing?

I'm surprised at some of the comparative costs you post. I've never seen a Kubota GL3940 sell for less than several thousand bucks more than a DK40se. Are your quotes official quotes from dealers? If so you might want to check out some other Kioti dealers to make sure. The actual price you quote for the DK40 seems about right if that includes the loader and a zero percent loan. I have not seen Kioti fail to offer a finance option with zero percent in years so I'd double check on that too. I haven't priced them in four years and I paid much less but there have been a number of price increases so 21K doesn't sound unreasonable but again I wonder if you have left out some discount or did not include the loader on the Kubota etc.

On the "which tractor" question: in the Kioti line up the sweet spot is the DK40se especially if you are doing a lot of loader work. The KL401 loader is the deal maker. You pay at least $1500 more for the DK45 and all you get is 4 extra hp. No real functional difference between those two.

While the money is always important in a few years it really won't matter if you feel you bought your tractor because the money was right but not the right tractor. Buy the tractor that fits you and your needs. :)

Also consider financing through some other means than the dealer and still getting the "cash" prices...

If you could get a Grand L Kubota for $1000 more why in the world would you not?

No flames intended, Just saying.

I tend to agree. As you previously stated, the payment would only be $30.00 a month more. Maybe it's because I have a L4400, but I have no negative sentiments or negative comments in regards to all the other tractor makes and models. Choose the tractor that you want and are the happiest with. You will be the person enjoying your seat time. Please pick the one that you are most satisfied with involving all areas of purchasing. Best of Luck.
