Any information regarding these two tractors would be appreciated. I am selling my 1985 JD 650 and replacing it with one of these units. Has anyone tried these units side by side? Is the price jump to the 2520 worth it? I am buying in Edmonton AB Canada and the price difference is around $2500CDN. There seems to be a substantial increase in hydraulic capacity in the 2520. Do I need it to power the 200CX loader? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I like the general ergonomics of the 2320 slightly better. It does not have the big center hump that the 2520 has and seemed a little more roomier to me. But this is minor and to eachtheir own when it comes to ergonomics.

The loader lift capacity and 3pt hitch capacity specs out the same per both unit. The main difference you will find is that the 2520's hydraulics will work quite a bit faster than the 2320's. If speed is the name of the game then I'd get the 2520 over the 2320. If your in no hurry, however, then the 2320 will do just about everything the 2520 will do.

One other difference, I believe the 2520 will be able to handle a 5 foot brush hog and the 2320 will only handle a 4 footer. This again basically boils down to speed.

I made my desicion just from the brochure. I bought my 2520 (ordered) in March. All I had to go on was the deere brochure. I went for the better hydraulics and wanted to use a 5' cutter. Now that they are both available, I would have to try them both out, but probably would still make the same choice. JC

Thanks....my concern with the 2320 is the 3000 rpm engine speed to operate the 540 PTO. This seems to be a rather high rev for a diesel to run at. I know the 2520 operates at a lower rpm. Any opinions on this?

It's the same engine as the 2305 in the 2320, so far they've been good-to-go.

Good Luck!

As a former owner of a 2210/200CX loader and now a 2320with 200CX loader I will say either unit will handle a full bucket of any common material (gravel, dirt, etc.,). Personally, I would move up to the 2520 if a backhoe or larger bushhog were needed where you would certainly welcome the added hydro features. As for the loader, I suspect the added power on the 2520 would be very nice if you had pallet forks or something that extends the load well out there, but the 2320 or 2210 are no dogs to loader work.

FYI....The 2320 is notably faster (20% greater hydro pressure) with the loader, when compared to the 2210.

Interesting comment on 2320 loader speed being 20% faster than 2305. I would have thought increased hydro pressure would only affect the how much maximum weight you could lift, not the speed which seems it should be governed by flow rate.

Anybody have the answer? Is flow rate relatively constant on these machines or does it go down significantly (e.g. 20%) under load?

In my opinion, I would go with the 2320. My reasoning is that the 2520 is too close in price to the 3120 or 3320. I realize I sound like a broken record, and I really do like the 2520, I just think if one is going small framed, go with a machine that is small enough to do what one gets a small framed machine for, such as manuvering in tight spots, mowing, etc. If you want a BIG small frame and are wanting to pay the extra cash, price a lower HP mid frame. The 3000 series will fit virtually everywhere a 2520 would, takes up only slightly more space and would give double the capability at pretty close to the price. What a lot of folks who have not seen one do not realize is that the 2520 is long, and almost as wide as a 3000 series, it just does not weigh as much. To me, if smaller is better for you, the 2320 has plenty of power to do all the jobs you need, and will save some money too.

One of the classical problems/comments with the 2210/210 loader is the slow response to dump the load or to back drag, this has been mentioned many times here on the web, and you don't see that slow response in the 2320.

The 2520 is around 1000#'s lighter than the 3120, and only 205#'s heavier than the 2320. Brochure says 2320 is .3 inches longer than the 2520. To me, it costs more than the 2320 but I can use a 5' hog on it (and be about 3 inches wider than the tractor on each side). I read and read on hear and other places, finally just picked one and am happy with it. I guess it really boils down to how much money you can spend. I could have went bigger, but I wanted a gator for family enjoyment also. JC
