John Deere 4300
Over six weeks ago I made a deal with our local John Deere dealer to trade my old John Deere 855 in on a new 4300 with the 420 FEL and 60" belly mower. I have seen the tractor that I have made the deal for, but the trade has been delayed because the dealer says the hydraulic mechanism for the belly mower is not available. He says that he still wants the deal to go through and has suggested that I continue to use my 855 as if it were a loaner from him. I have not noticed any posts on hydraulic part availability.
Please let me know if anyone has info.

Yes, the mid PTO hydraulic kit 1000; otherwise known as part number BM19583.
I am told that the factory that builds these kits burned and my dealer tells me he has already lost 20 sales as a result.

Sounds strange to me. I am calling my dealer today about delivery of my 4300; I'll ask him. We have a good releationshiop.

I ordered my 4300 with the mid pto six weeks ago and have been running it for three weeks. Never heard anything about the mid pto availability problem.

The problem that has been described to me is not with the mid PTO itself, but with the availability of the hydraulic kit that hooks up to the belly mower that is attached to the mid PTO. Apparently, unlike my JD 855 that runs the FEL and belly mower from the same hydraulic system, the 4300 has a separate hydraulic system (and kit) for the belly mower.

Would you please send me your dealer's name and phone number?
Thanks!

A JD dealer yesterday told me that a big JD warehouse completely burned down a while back somewhere in the midwest. It became an oil fire and destroyed everything including a lot of mowers. Wonder if this is related.

I would appreciate any info on the hydraulic mechanism that operates the belly mower on a 4300. Apparently, there is a problem finding these (due to a warehouse fire) in my area and it is delaying the delivery of my new 4300. If you happen to speak to your dealer and he has one of these hydraulic kits (aka 1000 kit) please send me his name and phone number so that I may pass it along to my dealer.
Thanks,
Jim
