I have a 2017, similar but a 5.0 vs the 3.5 eco boost, we paid about $37k in September of 2017, it was technically a leftover as the 2018’s were out. It is pretty crazy and probably very little discount off the $61.5k price tag.

I can't watch that guy. He triggers me like flashing lights to an epileptic.
I know you were not trying to be funny, but I just got coffee all over my laptop screen.

61,500 for a gas 1/2 ton.
Thats ridiculous! How the heck is “group 302A“ worth $5,700?
“Off road package“ (skid plates & painted gas shocks) $1,005?
People will pay for it. What I don't like is that they will take 1 popular feature; say, Cruise Control; and put it into a "package." When "building" a truck it might show as $235. Yet when you add it to your build it says "Must buy package 1234". That package is a bunch of garbage that you would never want yet costs a thousand dollars or more... plus the $235 for the option you would like.

Hence why I look around for gently used vehicles. Find what I want and save about $30k in the process.

Last two trucks I've purchased, I was out the door for around $20k.

The gently used market is just as high right now also.
Yeah, it skyrocketed a week after I purchased my truck. Got lucky with that.

Dealer was trying to buy my truck back for $8k over what we paid for it.

I pointed out that it wasn't for sale. If I was to sell it back to him, I would then be searching again and would likely be charged $15k more for something else.

I bought my 2018 Colorado with 26K miles in August 2020. I saved about 3000 off a comparable new vehicle... if I could find what I wanted. (I actually had driven down to look at a new Colorado, which they supposedly sold while I was on the road.) At the time I thought about waiting a year until markets settled down.
I'm glad that I didn't. Anybody buying used at today's prices is going to take a big hit if the markets ever do come around... and that 's when I hope to pick up an F250 or something similar.

Nissan made good vehicles a long way back. I had a 1980 200SX that never had a mechanical problem. (150k miles I put on after I bought it with 54k already there) Bought a new 91 Pathfinder and it was a solid truck, too. Sold it in '99 as we needed room for more kids. The data on Nissan in the last 20 years has been sad. I've shifted to Toyota for the most part. Had a Ranger and will never again buy a Ford. My Outback does well, but doesn't have a hitch and would not tow much anyway. When the time comes for another road vehicle it will be a Tacoma or Tundra. Reliability is my primary driver. If you have heavy hauling needs, better listen to haydude or someone else who uses them.

I got my first Nissan, a 1984 720 4x4 King Cab pickup because I couldn't afford a Toyota. It ended up being every bit as good as a Toyota and maybe better. It had $150k on it when totalled.

Nissan has had ups and downs. The alliance with Renault was probably a bad idea. I never warmed up to CVT transmissions but my wife had a 1st gen Murano with one and it was flawless. My son had a 2013 3.5 liter Altima with one. No issues and that car was fast (3.6 sec to 60). Some of the industry rags rated better than the BMW 3 series. Reviews on the Versa and the Titan HD a few years ago were among the worst I've seen.

I think all makers have their issues. I remember the F250 Navstar fiasco with Ford. Left owners high and dry. My nephew had a Toyota Tacoma, just out of warranty, that had the frame rust issue. It literally cracked in two. Toyota did nothing for him.

As mentioned, my 350Z and my wife's Infiniti coupe have been stellar. 2007 and 2009. Both of these cars were made in Japan, not Tennessee or elsewhere in the US. Is that relevant? I don't know.

Renault saved Nissan from bankruptcy and stirred up the totally inefficient corporate culture of Nissan, this was such a insult that they probably framed CEO Goshen a few years ago.

But the ridiculous Japanese conservatism may destroy the brand, they where EV pioneers but let the lead they had slipped away, produced a endless stream very uninspiring cars, so in the last year's when they returned to the old ways before Goshen they are loosing big money again.
