Okay maybe that was a dumb question. Obv it is either Teflon or ceramic.

If it is a 5 year, it is a ceramic or a nano-glass. It could be the new gryphene coating type, but that is still pretty new and not fully embedded into the detailing world.... yet.

If I were a betting man, I would guess Gtechniq C1 Crystal is what he used.

My truck and tractor were washed a couple days ago.....with 100% rain water. :ROFLMAO:

My tractor sits in a large carport stall. Birds nest in the rafters. I wipe the bird poop off the steering wheel and seat. Then later this summer I will hose it all off the remainder of the tractor. After all the baby birds have left their nests.
I just finished wash/wax the Taco Wagon. I break it down to a three day project. Now it's a whole lot easier to see the mud that splashes up on the sides. Shiny background - tan mud.

I paid him $600. For that he buffed out all scratches, no swirls. Then stripped the paint clean, opening all the pores. Then taped off the entire truck. Then applied the product and lightly buffed it. This included the wheels removing them to treat the inside too. Treated the windshield. Applied a treatment to all the rubber/plastic trim.
VERY fair price.Had our 2018 challenger paint correction done with ceramic pro installed for $1,400.

It would be worth paying that once in a while. No matter how clean you try to keep it there's always seems to be road dirt and other junk that works it's way under the seat and console. He did a really good job for you. If you hadn't told us the year I never would have guessed that it's that old. 👍
I'll take some before/after pics of Terry's GC and my Wrangler.

Wait,

You guys wash your trucks?!

Next you'll be telling us you wash your tractors!
I run my truck through the car wash at least once a week... more, if it needs it. Last fall I picked up a pressure washer and will be doing my ATV, tractor, and implements. Before next winter I'll sink a hydrant so that I won't need to drive home after washing the salt off.

Just be careful with the pressure washer - Jstpssng. Neighbor got one for all his big tractors and planting/harvest equipment. Blew the IH Steiger decals off one side of one of his bigger tractors.

Doesn't hurt the tractor one bit. But I wonder what it does to all the grease fittings and rubber booted fittings.

I've got dirt and mildew in places that I don't even know how it got there. Good point about the grease fittings though.

GM truck frames have open tubes for cross members. After I picked up the pressure washer last year I noticed that those pieces in my company truck were packed full with mud. By the time I got done they were clean... and I was wearing the mud. Next time I'll know enough to wear my rain gear.

When I was at my JD dealer they were cleaning a combine. Two guys with pressure washer wearing rain suits. All sorts of crap on the ground. They were still at it and hour later.

I have a real nice power washer for several years. Tried it on my truck several times.......and ......it ain't worth the trouble. I can use the garden hose and a bucket of soapy water quicker and easier. The power washer works great for other jobs however. 0.02 cents.

Cheers,
Mike

It's great for getting mud out of the corners though, and in winter won't hurt to wash the salt off and will hopefully help the truck last longer.
I only paid $25 for it, and it paid for itself that one time I cleaned the company truck out before turning it in.

I'm Blessed to have a good power washer. Gas engine, 2,500 psi, can't remember for sure but guessing 4gpm, no hot water. It'll strip the decals off your vehicle it you choose. I use soap in a hand pump sprayer to suds the vehicle. I've had it ten years. Lost track of how many times I've used it.

I really, really want a steam cleaner but can't live with the cost. I think I paid $700 for mine.

On my implements - the plain old garden hose with a nozzle. On the Taco Wagon - add soapy water and a good, soft scrub brush.

My hose wouldn't even touch te dirt on my plow, even after I scraped it off with a hoe. It's a 101 Ford which looked like new when I bought it but doesn't now.

My Grandson would cringe if he had to watch you use a brush on your truck. :)

I’ve always said three things can happen when you wash and clean your vehicle, you can scratch it, nothing happens, or you can remove scratches. If you carefull you might do nothing but most likely you will be scratching it. The alternative is letting your vehicle stay dirty which is hard on the paint. That is one reason these foam cannons are catching on.

One problem with water at my house is it’s hard and spots badly. There are systems I could buy to correct that but are expensive.

I agree.

I've used the foam brushes at car washes. I get the vehicle as clean as I can first to remove any abrasive substance. I inspect the brush to make sure someone ahead of me didn't follow that rule.

I wash all of my motorized equipment. I even wash my power washer. I just got a foam cannon. I like the results.

My water spots too, although not terribly.

According to my Grandson the coating he applied to my truck makes washing easier and requires less abrasion. I haven't washed it since he applied the coating. Will get that wash in the next couple days. I'll report my findings.
