John Deere 3033R
I've been a green guy for 30 years, but my local dealer is really missing the mark. I went to kick tires on a new 3033R and all the fixins, but my dealer tells me it will be a 6-9 month wait due to JD's backlog, citing COVID. In addition, the dealer has really gone down hill, with a revolving door of personnel and multiple trips to correct service failings. I can't wait six months. That said, I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Kubota L3560 & KA805 loader. I'd appreciate any insight from current owners of this make and model. Thanks!

Seems to be a common problem on inventory. Kubota makes great tractors and if it’s in stock and what you want I would jump on it.

I'm not buying the dealers reasoning for the wait. I wonder if he has more problems than he wants you to know.

It’s crazy how I have seen and heard of the limited and low stock of some dealers, but I see other dealers with a lot of stock. My wife and I drove from southeast of Dallas to Pablo Duro State Park. I saw 1 Kubota house, and 3 JD houses that were stocked to the brim with all sizes of tractors. SCUT, CUT, Utility, and BIG farm machines. As we got further west, the color turned all Green due to the large scale farming and ranching, but yeah. . . I saw a lot of machines.

Now in my case, I bought my MX in December. Get everything I needed and wanted, but they still have yet to get in a QH20 quick hitch.

would make more sence to call around to all the dealers in a 200 mile radius. get the one you want. figure out how to get it home later.

I’ve got one size up in the GL4060 and LA805 FEL. Been very happy with it bought last summer. I have 125 hours on it and use for light excavation (BH92 backhoe), dirt and earthwork, landscaping and snow removal (HLA 1800 7’ pusher). And I use the heck out of the pallet forks. I have a 7’ land plane at work that I’ll use to grade vehicle lanes w/ my tractor.

I worked on an all green farm in the 1990’s so I’m ok with green (have a green ZTR). Decision for me was the dealer. Family owned and a couple miles away. The green dealer is very large and 20+ miles up the highway. When I started looking last May for something to replace a skid steer the Kubota dealer had mine in stock. Took about 6 weeks to get BH subframe and 12 weeks for 3rd function but I was ok with the wait.

All the colors have + and -. Good luck.

Been a green guy for many years also. But yes, this Covid crap has got the country in a bind. Local car dealers can't get pickup trucks to sell...local Jeep dealer hasn't seen a new Wrangler in 2 months. Personally, I've been looking to get a new Yamaha side by side and guess what? No dealer in northern Nevada has any to sell and no idea when any will be delivered. So if you find something on the lot that's still unsold that's your only choice.

Same problem with the labor force. All our local businesses have "Help Wanted" signs hanging in the front windows...yet the county reports 9% unemployment rate. Too many people don't want to work...they'd rather live off the taxpayer and stay home and do drugs.

The L3560 is right at the bottom end for HP. Kubota had a L3240 (the previous gen) and it seemed under powered to me. Depending on what you plan to do with the tractor it could make more sense to go up to the next HP in the line. As for the tractor itself, you will love the HST+ transmission. With both a 3 speed gear box and a 2 speed HST system (giving you 6 speeds) you're not likely to go back to a tractor without it. Driving up to a pile of dirt and flicking a lever without letting of the HST pedal or moving a lever to go into a lower gear is great.

Yea, my anecdotal evidence says Deere inventory is increasing now. However, I haven’t seen a 3R sitting on the lot (unsold) in over a year, maybe 2 years! They were in short supply before COVID.
