Trick to plowing snow with FEL ??

Ok I have an XJ2025H with FEL...gravel drive, any tricks to plowing the snow without digging the gravel ? I was going to get a snowblower but figured I already have a FEL why buy a snowblower and deal with the gravel going thru the blower

Since it's what you have, figure out a way to use it. I totally support that theory.

Maybe tilt the bucket back just enough to bring the edge above your gravel. Then depending on snow type it might push it off the drive.

An FEL is the ultimate worst tool for snow removal.

Hopefully you can experiment with it and find a useable solution.

Watch some Youtube videos and just play with your tractor in the snow you will get the hang of it. I've used one and many others have if it is what you have. As overszd said tilt your bucket so as not to pick up gravel; you should have a level indicator on your bucket.

FEL beats the heck out of a shovel and it also gives you experience using your FEL

FEL with bucket makes a good counter weight to keep your tractor from floating off into space while plowing with the rear blade or something else.

I slit a chunk of sch40 pipe put it over the cutting edge keeps from digging up the gravel. works great.

A search will reveal a member that fabricates some clamp on skids that U attach to the FEL edge.
OK, that'll leave about one inch of snow (makes a base) and won't dig in and or gather gravel.

When I saw his device I was impressed.

What size pVC ?? How did you slit it ?? And what holds it on ?? Do you put the bucket in float ?? And do you keep bucket level ??

I've been managing snow with my FEL on my gravel driveway for many years. It takes practice. It's a definite challenge when the ground surface is not frozen and a divot or two or three is a reality with uneven surfaces or FEL gouging. One can float the FEL parallel/level to the gravel bed surface as posted previously. It is a lot easier and "cleaner" to manage snow on gravel once everything freezes solid.

Snow on crusher run/fine gravel is easier to manage than rough/coarse gravel.

It takes practice.
