It has been a while since I have had the time to visit here. Here are a few shots of my latest adventures in rebuilding the farm. The large ash tree is over 4' across. The smaller was only 3' in diameter. Both trees were dropped by me before they did anymore limb damage to the house. Enjoy the photos.

Yup, I climbed it with a rope and set of ascenders to crop the top of this side. I even got to rappel down the rope. What a blast that was. I made 7 more climbs just for the fun of it. The wife thought I was nuts

The ladders were used to attach a cable to pull the tree where we wanted it to go. My farmer friend came over with his big tractor and a winch to pull the tree down for me.

All down and what a mess to clean up. That woodpile in the background has more than doubled now.

I think you might be a little nuts too.... that high climbing, hanging by a string bit is a little creepy.

Nice picture with the shadow of you on the barn.

Oh come-on now. I was wearing a harness and was using ascenders to climb that little 7000 pound test 1/2 climbing rope. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
You have to try it to see what it's like rappelling from 40 feet up. That little string on my foot is just the rope that attaches to one of the ascenders. You step down and your body goes up. I would never climb a tree with a little rope like that.
