Tractor
John Deere 970
I finished my weekend project. Made a tractor top out of 16ga angle that came as a packing crate and metal roof material. Adapted a liquid crate to my bucket as a man lift for cutting trees.

Believe I would want a bit more than the rope holding your man lift to the bucket, other than that the liquid crate makes a good place to work from.

Yes MarkV I plan for all chain. I have the rope to take the picture and to measure how much height I can get out of it. I made some other improvements since the picture. Still designing and probably will for some time.

Good ideas :) I'm just not sure I trust my wife operating the loader with me up there :(

Be sure the driver is not the beneficiary of your life insurance policy. :)

OK, I have it all finished now. Got some ratchet straps that will hold it very firm. Here is a picture without the forks. Wife can operate the machinery as well as anyone and I trust her. If anything happens to me she has to do all the work, good incentive to keep me well.

Outriggers? A high load will tip a narrow wheel width rather easily on anything other than (relatively speaking) level ground... Just sayin'... it's a strange feeling to have a tractor tip with a load that is raised merely above the hood... I dang near tipped once and that is all it took for me to realize the laws of physics and center of gravity for the mid-size tractor...

Nice looking basket...
