For those who think you have to spread traps all over a barn to catch mice, it's not so. Here's a picture of four traps set right next to each other and each one with a deceased mouse. I hate mice and have caught three in a row but never four. Maybe because I never set four traps in a row. The bait is smooth peanut butter.

Spoiler alert: Don't view before your favorite breakfast.

WoW! A herd of dead mice! Are you gonna try for 5,6?

No, since my neighbor cleaned up his farm 1/8th mile away the mice have slowly been disappearing. There's a separate thread I did on this that basically involved me catching his carpetbagging mice at my place. The neighbor passed away and the land got rented to grains so minimal food and habitat. I only caught around 10 for the winter when I used to catch 200.

Five or six would only get me the accolades and media attention I'm trying to avoid. :D

This is why I need cats and don't kill black snakes. My dogs are pretty good mice hunters around the chicken coops. I'm still need some feral cats long term though.

Well done.
It either means you have an effective method or their numbers have increased exponentially.
I suggest you reload, and resupply. obviously 4 is not enough.
I once got 2 in one trap, and then 4 in 2 traps a day later.
I know....you are in awe.
keep trying....

I don't think the mouse population increased and in fact I feel it is sharply reduced since over the winter I only caught a few. I just got lucky and it probably was just my time to hit the quadfecta. Even a stopped watch is right twice a day so maybe my number was up? I will say it was fresh peanut butter from Whole Foods that was a leftover from someone. The four traps in a row is not something I would normally do but my mower was in the way and I was too lazy to move.

Yes, I am in awe of the two in one trap and that is a rare feat.

Occasionally I'll find one just laying there dead in the middle of the barn. I figure they stepped on the wrong end of the trap and got thrown 15 feet away. They die pretty easy.

Maybe the mice have gotten smarter and you just caught the stupid ones.:)
