Trapezoid, Flood or Spot... which is best ??

I'm curious what most people use to see what you're doing as the sun goes down. The headlights on my Kubota BX2200 are cute, but basically worthless for any meaningful work in the dark. I know it's best to do all your chores during daylight hours but I also know how I start having too much fun and forget to watch the clock sometimes. I want to mount 2 forward and maybe 1 or 2 reverse lights on my ROPS mounted sunshade frame. Obviously you don't need to flood light the whole field but then I'm thinking a spot may be too focused so... is a trapezoid beam maybe the right choice?

I went with whatever was the cheapest. I think I got a set of spots or trapezoids. I'm not sure which. For FEL, mowing and backhoe work they work great.

Bottom line - i don't think it matters for this application.

I put a set of Trapezoid lights on the front of the cab, so I could see what I'm doing with the FEL at night. From looking at the beam diagrams for each on the package, this seemed to be the preferred pattern.

I had a metal canopy on my B2710 and I put one trapezoidal light on the front to supplement the headlights and one flood light on the rear so I could see to hookup, unhook, or otherwise work on any implement back there. That was after I skinned my shin on the tailwheel of my brush hog one dark night. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I just bought a flood for the rear of my tractor (TSC ~$15) and I plan to add 2 trapz (TSC ~$15/ light) to the front for FEL work.
