Trap plans?

Does anyone have plans to build animal traps? I need to start "evicting" some of the groundhogs on our farm...they seem to double each year! I got rid of a few last year, but they wise up real quick.

Also, anyone have experience with the bucket traps that use a 5 gallon bucket? They are on Ebay for $35 shipped...

best trap for a G-Hog is a peice of lead trapped in it's little brain. Sorry, but thos are some destructive animals.
I am not normally like that about any animal. Live and let live but G-Hogs are an exception

I know several people who used this org ( http://www.varminthunter.org ) to get rid of varmints. They don't charge. In fact, depending on the type of varmints, they'll pay to shoot on your land. One of my friends in Wyoming was offered $150 a day per person to hunt prairedogs on his land. All he had to do was show them where they could shoot and where they coudn't. These people picked up all the trash they found and closed all gates they opened. For that, he was paid $450 a day for three people to hunt for three days ($1350). My friend was delighted enough to invited the three back for pronghorn hunting.

I went to TSC last night and stared at the Havahart trap ($46) for a few minutes, then came home after work today and made a similar one out of some old fence and some tie wires. I set it out about an hour ago, baited with an apple slice and some peanut butter...we'll see how it works...still not sure if the "trigger" is too hard and/or if the door will not let them back out (relying on gravity a bit here), but those are just "tweaks" /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
