I bought a old 20' mayrath grain auger and need to transport it 100 miles home. I have a 16 foot trailer to haul it on. I was wondering if the auger can be removed from the stand to transport. Here is a picture of auger. Any help would be great. big dan

Now I certainly wont claim to know Anything about grain augers, but I would think that it would be a fairly simple item to load and transport. Your trailer is 16' and the auger is only 20', so length is not a problem. I wouldn't think you would need to remove it from the stand at all.
It has wheels so it should be easy to get to and onto the trailer, load it with the current "low" end toward the tongue of the trailer, let the high end hang out off the tail end and Flag it good for safety, strap her down secure and head it home. There can't be any real weight to it is there ?

How tall is the pole in the middle ?

Could you lay it on its side ?
