Transmission- Hydraulic oil dipstick YM1510D

Hi,
Just to be sure,
Is the horizontal line on the Transmission-Hydraulic oil dipstick the minimum or the maximum? ( see pic attached) I believe it is the maximum, is that correct?
There are no threads on the dipstick. Do I push it in completely to check the oil level?

Indicates the full mark pushed all the way down.

When I check mine I would only push it partially in. A good guesstimate your's compared to my stick would be at the first triangle or were it would first sit without pushing it in and starting to seal it. For me personally I would rather have just a little to much than just not enough. This maybe my oil Dipstick but it's the same design as my Trans.. So when I do check mine I insert it to were the threads stop it and let it sit. I don't think any of the manuals actually tells you how or specifically how.

Two different dip sticks, one threaded, one not. I may have give bad advice. Not sure. There are instructions about the 240 or 2000 or I would imagine any screw in type.

Thank you for the replies. Mine is not threaded so I guess it need to be pushed in all the way to check the level

Be careful!! you could be digging for fluid. Surely someone should know on your model. The sure way to do it is do Hyd. fluid/filter change and then see were it hits on the Dip Stick. Using the correct amount. Then Start it up and run or move all Hyd. attachments or features which means Power shift also and check it. That's were I would want it to hit the full mark on the Stick. Pushing it all the way in.
The only reason I didn't recommend to push it all the way in was that after a Hyd. fluid change I actually may have add a little to much. It was easily done and doing the correct way on mine. And what ended up happening is that I had a small axle drip when I parked it. But I knew I had a pitted Collar Seal so that didn't help. After the Hyd. fluid dropped down just below in the Hatch marks it quit. I may see a drip if I put a Steady hour or more on it mowing. And I have to look real hard on the Rim to actually see it.

I check threaded dipsticks resting on the threads, and the push in type when they are pushed in. I think that the difference is rarely critical.

However the one time it could be critical is when checking a system with a small sump volume. Mechanics check hydraulic oil when the oil is at room temperature rather than when it is hot.
The reason is that hot oil expands more - and faster - than the volume change of a sump. And that explains why some hydraulic dipsticks have hot/cold level marks on them.
Power steering systems have almost no sump, and hot/cold level marks are common there.

Overfilling could lead to a pressure problem, but it usually doesn't because there will be a breather vent in the same plenum as the dipstick. The breather vent is sized and located so that if oil is over-filled... or cold oil is filled to the hot mark.... the system will just blow the extra oil out the breather vent until the level is right.
