Re: transmission/Hydraulic fluid. Who\'s using what?
The POWER TRAC PT-425 tractor (
www.power-trac.com/t8class.htm ) is all hydraulic - 3 hydraulic pumps, 4 wheel motors, 2 steering cylinders, FEL, and all PTO!
/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif The factory specs call for 10W-30 or 10W40 MOTOR OIL in the 10 gallon hydraulic tank!!??!!
/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif MOTOR OIL!!!??!!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif After 3 hours of PTO use, with the hydraulic oil cooler running, the Hydraulic Oil temperature in the hydraulic tank is 180° F. at an ambient temperature of 60° F.!! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Per (
www.precisionfluidpower.com/oil_recommendations.htm ) : ""Oil operating temperature should not exceed 200° F. with a maximum of 180° F. generally recommended. 120° F to 140° F. is generally considered the optimum system operating temperatures. High temperatures result in rapid oil deterioration and may point out a need for an oil cooler or a larger reservoir. The nearer to optimum temperature, the longer the service life of the oil and the hydraulic components.""
Would Amsoil Synthetic Series 2000 0W-30 MOTOR OIL (
www.amsoil.com/products/tso.html ) work for these hydraulics?? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Because it is specifically designed for hydraulics, would not Amsoil Synthetic Tractor HYDRAULIC/TRANSMISSION OIL SAE 30 (
www.amsoil.com/products/ath.html ) be the very BEST PRODUCT to use in the hydraulic tank of this all hydraulic tractor!!????!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
