Kubota B6100
Hello TRACTORBYNET.

My Kubota B6100 uses the transmission oil for that purpose but also for all the hydraulics including a front loader fitted as an extra.

What I want to know is if I drain out all the old oil from the two drains at the bottom of the transmission case is it really going to drain out ALL the oil?

And refilling- will that fill all parts?

What about say the hydraulic cylinders on the loader lift and bucket?

Does one have to bleed air anywhere.

Please explain what I need to know about this system- probably only ones that know this particular tractor will know this or it could be a common procedure?

Thank you- whiterose.

It's almost impossible to get all the oil out of a hyd system once it's been filled & operated. To get the most oil out of system lower 3 pt hitch and raise loader boom. Once plugs have been removed with engine not running lower FEL boom. After oil & filter have been replaced start engine & operate all hyd functions to bleed air out of system. Finally recheck hyd fluid level.

I was going to answer you questions, but TX Jim already did ^^

I used to have a B6100 and there's no way you can completely drain the oil out of them. I always dropped the two drain plugs, let it drain, then I'd wrap a shop rag around the nozzle of a blow gun and blow compressed air through the fill port which would get a little more out of it, but even then I think it always took about 2-4 quarts less than the book called for.

Unless your hydraulic oil is contaminated really bad, you shouldn't have any problems

Wow. Thanks. All I needed to know and concise and clear. Don't know its condition just that I acquired recently and engine oil was dirty so am doing all fluids.

Very interesting that systems self bleed air out.

Thanks again Jim.

Yup.. the cyls will self bleed.

If you think the hyds / trans oil MIGHT be contaminated, grab a can of transtune seafoam and treat the sumps prior to draining.

IE. treat the sump, then operate the machine for about 15 minutes to get the fluid mixed and circulated. This should help de-water the sump if it is wet.

There should be an operator's manual for that tractor ? What kind of oil are you planning to pour back in?

Soundguy.

Thank you you're input advice. Certainly will check on that.
Wow you sure have got/had a pile of machines.

Super how cylinders bleed out the trapped air without bleeding oil.
Thanks again.
Another old timer but doing a whole lot o lernin 'bout tractors.

Dennis- whiterose.
