Transmission fluid change ?

The manual on my 3010 tells me to change the hydraulic and transmission oil filters at 200 hrs. yet I don't have to change the transmission fluid until 400 hrs. Won't removing the filters without draining the oil first cause a mess ( loss of oil) trying to get the new filters back on ? or am I missing something ?

My L3430 is the same way. I just changed the filters fast and topped off the fluid (about one gallon was lost).
