I have a NX4510 hst. After my last transmission oil change, my drain plug was trying to sieze up on me. Never had something that was in contact with oil do that before. I've removed and reinstalled many drain plugs before with no problems like this, and know it wasn't cross threaded. I was wondering if any of you knew the size of the drain plug as I was going to see about buying a tap and die to chase the threads out, or if you had had this problem, what did you do to correct it. I should have checked the size before reinstalling it but in my desperation to get it up and running I didn't think of this at the time.

Thanks

Some drain plugs are made of soft metal on purpose. So that if things do get cross-threaded, the plug will be the one that is sacrificial.

When it's time, I'd buy a new drain plug and go from there.

Good luck

I’m a firm believer in copper based anti-seize . I put it on everything except spark plugs.
