Hello, everyone. I'm pretty new to rural living. My new home is heated by radiant heat, water heated by a boiler fuled by fuel oil, my supplier assures me it is in fact diesel #2. It is stored in a subterranean tank just outside my garage. I just purchased two Kubota diesel powered landscape / farm machines (Walker mower, Bobcat Toolcat)-- and am trying to figure out how to store and dispense quantities of diesel fuel here on the farm. I've seen electric transfer pumps that can pump from the tank to the tractors. The co-op just delivered oil two weeks ago. Would you do it? Any other additives, filters, or concerns? Thanks.

I store diesel in 150 gallon quantities in a 275 gal above ground oil tank and transfer it with an electric pump that I bought from Northern Tool. System works fine and no reason why it shouldn't work with an underground tank provided you hook up a long enough intake tube from the pump.

Hope this helps
