Just the other day I was moving my boat around the yard on a trailer using my small tractor. 5000 lb gross trailer and boat.
I didn't think much of it at the time, but mostly just so they wouldn't drag on the ground, I hung the saftey chains on the lower portion of one of the 3-pt arms.
Backing the boat down the driveway, the drawbar decides to slide out of its receiver in the tractor. The pin must have bounced out some time ago and it was only held in by rust?
Anyway, me, my boat, and my neighbor's car were both very happy that the saftey chains were hooked onto something solid!
