Hey guys,

I am thinking of trading my x720 GT for a 3320 with 72d auto connect deck. Anyone done a similar trade? How well does the auto deck really hook up and disconnect? Anyone want to buy a 1 year old, low hour (80) x720 in central IL for $7500?

That's an interesting "upgrade"... Skip right over the new 1000 series and leapfrog the "steady" and well-tested 2000 mowing platforms for a 3320!?!

Makes me wonder - if you can mow it - with a 3320... could you mow it just as well with your 4720? Or why not...?

My thoughts are similar to AKfish's. You have an excellent mower now, but the 3000 series might be pretty tough to mow around many obstacles with. I've thought about putting a drive over mower deck on my small Kubota, but though it is light, and pretty nimble, I usually end up thinking I want something at least as nimble as the Simplicity I have, and not less nimble. I have some medical issues that make installing my heavy mower deck a problem sometimes, so the drive over feature of the Kubota, and JD decks seems appealing. I suspect that the auto connect feature is one of the reasons for your thoughts about trading too. If that is the case, the new JDD 1026 has that feature too, and would make a bettter mower size wise.

The reason for not using my 4720 to mow is I have issues with trees and other low hanging objects... (I have a cab). The 3320 will be an open station. I have owned a 3320 previously and it was a good machine. I did not have mmm on that one. I was going to keep my x720 also but decided to try the 72D drive over deck for some smaller lawns (2-3 acres).

I do wish JD would make a drive over deck for my 4720.

All have been great machines. I am looking forward to the new 3320 for mowing. Today I was told to be at the JD dealer saturday morning at 7am to sign the paperwork and they possibly could deliver sat or monday morning... I may just take my trailer and bring it home myself! I am excited! Pics will be shown as required...

I had a 3320 OS with the 72" 7-Iron and then upgraded to a CAB 3320. When switching over the MMM I noticed one of the lines from the 3rd SCV to the mower lift cylinder had a restricter plate. If you find the MMM action too fast that may be an answer.
