I have a ten year old M5400 two wheel drive. I am looking at a newish 2013 MX5100DT (49hp) four wheel drive with a front end loader. My question is simple. Do yall think that the newer smaller 4 wheel drive will do as much work as the larger older 5400? The new tractor is 5 hp less and 600 lbs lighter (not including the loader). I will be using it to work food plots, a five foot landpride 3 point disk and a five foot bushhog are the largest tools I plan to use.

You will have no problem... the 4 wheel drive will more than make up for the slight weight difference in disking coming from a 2 wheel drive... and the 5 foot mower is not going to be noticed on the back of it... KennyV

You would miss the weight with bigger equipment than you have but with your items you won't know the difference. I lift a 1200 lb seeder with my MX5100 and while it knows it's back there doesn't even sweat it.
