My 1025r was a lemon. The 2025r is a MUCH more capable tractor. The hydraulic screen is a ***** to get to on the 1025r. I finally just skipped doing it. One on the 2025r is like on the 4010, etc. models, e.g. behind the 3ph bar but easy to get out and back in (after removing a rear wheel and 3ph bar). Don't know why JD still requires screen servicing. Kubota doesn't.

The seat and the PTO startup were better on the 1025r. Seat difference is marginal but better than the 4010's. PTO startup is noticeably very gentle on the 1025r and should be adopted across the board on JDs. The 2025r's PTO startup is almost as abrupt as it was on the 4010 (that likely caused its driveshaft demise).

Again, the 2025r is just lots more capable tractor. FEL action is very sure. 1025r's is very unsure. I'd never want to try dumping a load into my pickup with the 1025r. No problem with the 2025r.
