2005 4520 jd
I RECENTLY TRADED MY 4510 JD WITH 108 HRS FOR A NEW 4520 . I PAID 18,700 FOR 4510 POWER-REVERSER R-4 TIRE
WITH 460 FRONT END LOADER
ENDED UP TRADING FOR THE 4520 AND 400X LOADER FOR 6000,00 MORE.
I FELT LIKE I PROBABLY TOOK A HIT,BUT REALLY WANTED MORE POWER AND LIKED THE NEW STYLE. HAVE TO GET USE TO THE LOUDER NOISE AND REV. UP WHEN STARTING THE 4520. I FIGURE JD WILL HOLD THEIR VALUE AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN OTHER BRANDS . THE DEALER WAS SUPPOSE TO ADD TELESCOPIC 3-POINT HITCH ARMS BUT HAS'T CALLED TO INSTALL THEM. SAID HE'D HAVE TO ORDER THEM. ONE QUESTION . DOES ANYBODY HAVE THESE EXTENSION ARMS AND HOW DO THEY LIKE THEM? THANKS FOR ANY INPUT

I've got them on my 4710 and don't know how I would manage without them. I don't have a truely flat spot on the place to take implements on or off so they've been a real help. They give you about 3" of extension, plenty to allow you to just back up "close" and mount up your implement of choice. Did you get the power reverser on the new 4520 as well? Much as I like that tranny (my 4710 has the PRT) the HSTs probably do have a tiny advantage in inching back to line up an implement - making the extendable links even more useful for the PRT owners.

How do you like your 4520? I have the 4510 and really like it but keep thinking I could use a tractor that is a bit bigger with more power and not sure what would be a good next step.

Anything really jump out at you?

STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO POST CORRECTLY TO THE RIGHT REPLIES. BUT IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION MARK 4510 I DO LIKE THE 4520 TRACTOR SO FAR , BUT I DO THINK THE YANMAR ENGINE IN THE 4510 IS QUIETTER AND PROVEN. NEVER FAILED TO START IN THE WINTER. MY 4520 SEEMS TO HESITATE FOR JUST A SPLIT SECOND BEFORE FIRING. THE 4510 SEEMED TO HIT AS SOON AS THE KEY TURNED.IF I HAD IT DO ALL OVER AGAIN I'D LOOKED AT THE 4710 IF IS WAS STILL ON THE LOTS. THE DEALER I BOUGHT FROM DID NOT HAVE ANY ON THE LOT. THANKS FOR THE REPLIES AND ALL THE INFORMATION !!!!!!
